A Special Meeting in Templeton, CA
We camped in this area with the main purpose of meeting (for the first time) Robert’s distant cousin Jim Jensen, and what a delight it was. He is a retired doctor living in Templeton and we were amazed at what an active lifestyle he leads for a man almost 90 years old. We really enjoyed his very interesting stories and knowledge of family history. After spending an evening with us in our motorhome, he invited us for breakfast at his home. We were so impressed with delicious meal he prepared; sourdough pancakes (made from his own sourdough!), poached eggs, bacon, orange juice, and coffee.

Looking at some of our common ancestory.

Jim was gracious enough to chauffeur us along the spectacular coastline from San Simeon to Morro Bay. At one stop we saw hundreds of elephant seals sunning themselves on the beach.

At the end of our “tour” we stopped by the Red Soles Winery, where they had actually named a wine “Sunday Nights” after Jim and his friend Elmer.

We woke up to another beautiful day and decided to head into town for fresh donuts and coffee. Then we picked up some local produce at the farmers market in a nearby park.
